"Is It Love?" Spark/Mystery/1978 is the A-Side. The Single. Recorded at Larrabie Studios In West Hollywood. Steven T. arranged. I liked the Basic One-Take Recording, and especially liked hearing Rodney play it on KROQ. Kim did an amazing Job with the Artwork.
One of the Many Stolen Guitars.
Dead in Our Tomb at 5522 Virginia Ave. Some Daytime Creep crawled in through the kitchen window. Match book and spoon in hand.
The Arm made off with a Gibson 12-string/A Telecaster...a Springsteen-ish number (see the cover of "Is It Love?")/A Pearl White Fender Bass/a Beautiful Guild/and a worthless Harmony- laughter on the street! My late Brother's Guitars.
Too afraid to let Mom (back home) down now...I scoured all the Western Ave. Pawn Shops...but Quickly quit askin 'Around...(When)...A 12 year old Teen Elephant on A Dirt Bike, threatened me (swinging) with a Dull Ball Peen Hammer... The Lonely Bastard Kid had a Problem with MY HEAD. No more glory.
Kim managed to con one of Dyan Diamond's Bar Band Musicians into lending me his Les Paul. Back in action, I threw some feathers 'round. Thought Santa Monica Pier- McCartney for the A-Side and Teenage Slacker Dylan for the Back (originally written for Dyan). Scotty is the Kid doing all the talk. His Gypsie Mom make him Drop By for some after-school Tommy Rock baby-sitting and guitar lessons- late working afternoons. I recorded him quietly on the Four Track in my bedroom.
" I Don't have any Beatles...cause I don't Own any..."
He moved Before the Session began and Never Knew about His World Wide Sound Bite Debut. (and probably never will, if he's over 40 now)
Dr. Filth he keeps his world...inside of a leather cup... Desolation Row
